YES! I ABSOLUTELY, WHOLE-HEARTEDLY AGREE WITH YOU! poor old ladies and grandpas are falling victims to scams of every type imaginable! I saw some stories on 60 MINUTES, PRIMETIME, 20/20. The government is their guardian angel at this point. Im happy that there is a "DO NOT CALL" LIST LAW, it's just about time! These scammers are creative in the evil way. If they could only put their creative talents into good use. I believe in KARMA and whether you intend it or not, you will get a taste of your own medicine in due time. Also, it is no excuse that you are an "ex-telemarketer" boohoo, cry me a river, there are many jobs out there that doesn't involve exploited and corrupting the poor and vulnerable. "TELEMARKETERS" doing cold-calls are equivalent to a thousand or so of spawned SATANS SITTING IN CUBICLES. Good rule of thumb,
"Don't call me, I'll call you".
other scams in the works....(1) Magazine Subscriptions for $0.01 or $1.00/mo.
(2) DVD &/or CD subscriptions for $0.01 or $1.00/mo.
(3) DVD Rental Companies (be extra careful! always check your bank balances!)
other tips & advice....(1) Always monitor your bank balance for suspicious activities (you should know this by now)
(2) Don't accept any special offers, gifts, vacations, car contests/entry !
lastly....
(3) Real business companies don't steal money from customers (just viciously wrong!); Real business co. respect their customers'/members' privacy and honor their trust and loyalty. Although, there are some companies out there that are clever enough to play both side of the coin and able to swindle money from customers in increments. The employees of these companies should just expose them all! Whistle-blow! Go on and snitch! it's fun when corrupt, greedy companies like ENRON, WORLDCOM and others get the public humility. If you're gonna' take them down, take them down in the grandest way imaginable!
