I recieved a phone call in the middle of a nap, Agents Travel Network"
"May I speak with Mrs. K. (My last name.)" I said this is me, she introduced herself as Mary Jo Agent ID#229. "Can I call you Laurie?" I asked what she wanted. "You made a purchase online recently, and you've won 2 free airlines tickets!" I said "Oh? and how did that happen?" She said well here at agents travel we hold a drawing every week, we buy a list from our sister company, and your name was drawn. I backed her up. "Who gave my info to you?" She said "I can't tell you that" I said ok what do you need.
She said "I have your Routing number to your bank" Verify for me which bank please, I said My bank name, then she said "Ok now I need your checking account number"
I said "If you have my routing number you have my checking account number" She said yes but I have to verify it we aren't allowed for security reasons to give out your account number over the phone" RED FLAG to my computer I went, and punched in the website info she gave me www.agents/travel.net BLAM CATS SCAM PAGE WOOHOO! First thing I saw was the numbers and verified through my Cell number 1-727-471-1414 Thats on the westcoast of Florida near Tampa. I know cuz I'm a trucker and I know that area code well. I yelled and woke up my husband "THIS IS A SCAM!" She immediately started saying "No ma'am Wait don't hang up! Wait please" I said finally "THIS CALL HAS BEEN RECORDED AND IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA IT WILL AND CAN BE USED IN COURT. IF YOU DARE CONTACT ME OR MY ACCOUNT AGAIN IF I FIND ANYTHING AMISS ON MY ACCOUNT I WILL BLAME AGENTS TRAVEL IF I FIND OUT ANY OTHER PERSON IS AFFECTED BY AGENTS TRAVEL, A CALL TO THE BBB AND COURT PROCEEDINGS WILL BEGIN" What's the address LOL She hung up. Hi Cat, I am new here so please bear with me.

For the past three months I get these calls from 877 962 5896 on my land land phone. I have Southern Bell as my provider. When I answer they are never on the line or they hang up when I answer. They are driving me batty. Is there a way I can find out who they are or somehow can I make it stop? They are the only ones that do this. I do not get telemarketer calls except from them since going on Do not call list.

Sandi, I tried to find information on the number and the only thing that comes up is it is for all states, I think that means it is some kind of toll free number. I called it, and got a busy signal. It is likely a telemarketer that has a new number. They are really slick, most criminals are. Just ignore it and hope they go away. I had the same problem with another number and Bell South was no help to me. I had all the bells and whistles on my phone to block those kind of calls, and this particular number kept getting through, even though I was paying Bell South big money to block them. Now, I just don't answer at all. I have nothing to say to telemarketers, I don't care what they have to offer, they are ALL no good.

Just got a call from this number. Was a telemarketer, somewhat hi pressure, paid fundraiser for police association "for bullet-proof vests." when I said to put me on their "do not call list," he claimed to be a non-profit - (which isn't the same as a charity) I finally hung up.

Got a call last pm for bullet proof vests pledge. Told him I could not pledge and to send me information. He hung up.

I've already fallen into the trap today. Although there is nothing happening, but I believe it will be soon!! So I have to adopt some measurement immediately!!

If you gave them your bank information, you have two options. You can either have your account closed immediately or give your bank the information about the company and where they’re located. The bank will immediately put a block on any transactions they attempt to make.

Now, I wouldn’t stop there because you will continue to get calls in the future. My suggestion is to send them a simple notarized CEASE AND DESIST certified letter stating that you DO NOT want to be involved with their company in any capacity whatsoever. You are not to receive anymore of their useless promotions either by fax, email, postal mail, cell phone, land line, telegram, telegraph or pony express. Also let them know that if your account is charged they will be held liable for any charges made and any other incurred fees instituted by the bank as well.

Make it clear in the letter that you are not to be solicited any more and they are to put you on the DO NOT CALL LIST and if they don’t it is a violation of your rights and it will cost them a heavy fine.

I would send the letter to their customer service address you received when you got the package as well as to their corporate address. You can address it to their lawyers name, Donald Booth and a copy of the letter should be also sent to the owners of the company. Please make sure you type out a neat, professional looking letter. DO NOT threaten them with any violence. The more calmly you make your demands, the better off you’ll be.

Finally, as for being taken off the list, please remember one thing. Telling the agent not to call anymore, cursing at them and then hanging up doesn’t help you. If you say, “take me off your list”, they MUST read you the following disclaimer or else it’s a major fine:

I’M SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE, YOUR NAME AND NUMBER WILL BE ISSUED ON OUR DO NOT CALL LIST AND YOU’LL NOT RECEIVE FURTHER CALLS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS CALL I CAN PROVIDE YOU WITH OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER (1-800-853-9982), IF NOT THANK YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY.

Then once they stated the disclaimer, after you hang up, the call MUST be coded as a B9 DNC (Do Not Call). It does take up to 48 hours to take you off their list but if you call their number back, it puts you back on the list b/c the agent will mis-code the call. I suggest as soon as you get off the phone with the agent, send them a certified CEASE AND DESIST notarized letter regardless whether you’ve joined the program or not, stating you do not want anymore solicitations from Suntasia Marketing or any of their umbrella companies.

I promise you if done correctly, chances are you won’t hear from them again because if they do, you’ll have a legal lawsuit against them. Hopes this helps.

As of February 28th, 2006 Agents Travel Network is now called Travel Agents Direct and most of the phone numbers have changed. They still have the main customer service number as 1-800-853-9982 and the office number is still 727-471-0276.

They are located at 8751 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL 33771 NOT the address they give you over the phone. The address they give (the seminole one) is to the travel agency that supposedly takes care of the free vacation which is another lie. It isn't free at all. The $400 in airline vouchers they offer only cover a small fraction of what the ticket costs. You have to fork over everything else yourself.

Also, the Florida Passport the $149 hotel accomodations to Orlando & Fort Lauderdale (time share program) is now called "Floridaway". The calling card "Teleflex" was changed to "PRISM Communications". It sounds like "prison" when you're selling it over the phone. lol

These changes were made because like in the past, many people catch on sooner or later and start complaining. The manager even admitted in a meeting right before the change took place that it had to be made because every year or so "things have to look different" in order to keep going.

Sorry to say, as a former employee I knew the product was foul after a while. I found out that the discount travel card they send you has to be returned to them otherwise you'll get charged. As for the calling card (Teleflex, Prism etc), if the customer doesn't want it, they have to write a letter which states to deactivate the card otherwise they'll be charged $49.95. Sadly many were charged anyway before they got the package whether it was the travel, phone card, the hotel accomodations or ALL three packages.

The company that owns all these different names including "Capital Vacations" is called, "Suntasia Marketing".

Their website is http://www.suntasia.com. There, you'll find ALL the REAL corporate officers and their agenda. Make NO mistake about it, this company is ONLY geared towards making money and NOT into promoting a satisfying product.

Sad to say they made $20 million dollars (2004/2005 fiscal year) off of the backs of innocent people. I saw the numbers myself in one of their brochure reports. How long can they go before someone FINALLY puts an end to this charade. Feel free to ask me any questions. I am here to help.

JJ if I was fired for embezzlement then I would be in jail right now as we speak. Just because I disagree with the philosphy and business practices of a company doesn't mean that I would purposely do something illegal. I was a valuable employee with a conscience. Suntasia Marketing is a corporation that is making millions on a product that does not hold water when taking a closer look. What makes the product sell is the slick wording in the script. They change it constantly to stay one step ahead of the law.

If this company was such on the up and up then why change the name of the travel package 3 times (Capital Vacations, Agents Travel Network now Travel Agents DirecT) and the other packages as well. It doesn't make sense unless you are in on the company's questonable practices.

I thought I would pass this along to those who were curious to know. There is a website called, http://alexa.com/ which ranks millions and millions of websites in order. Sort of like radio and tv has ratings for their stations.

When I originally found the marketing companies' website and typed in wwww.suntasia.com in the web ranking box a couple of weeks ago, what came up was "no data" to rank with. Another words the site was not known by many and no one was barely clicking on it, so there was no way to tell how much traffic there was coming and going. But now, I checked it today (3/8/2006) and its ranked in 3,561,487 millionth place.

It's kind of funny b/c when you read the "overview" (information) the site has been online since May 8th of 2000. For years it stayed underneath the radar because no one knew it existed. Remember a couple of weeks ago I found it and there was "no data". All of the sudden I place the link the other day on this website and on another forum and WALLAH !! instant traffic. I too have had this happen to me but with me they got me for $149.00 and they

overdrafted the business checking account that only had $3.00 and change in it,

so I also got hit with the fee of 35.00 too.!!! Now I have gone to thier web site

and they have a contact us tab that doesn't work it says" Coming Soon!" So for a

company that has been in business since 1996 and has a repital customer service.

Doesn't even give you any information at all. So I now have to pay my bank back

$$175.06 thanks to these scam artist!!! So thanks so much for your info.

I went to the sunbiz.org website which lists all of the corporations in Florida and I found Suntasia's corporation documents. They are listed under Suntasia Properties Inc. You'll find there all the corporate officers of this company, annual reports and any changes they've made throughout their history. I totally forgot about this site.
