So some friends and I eat the contents of a Fentanyl patch and get completely messed up and walk around the local fair the other week. We all decide its a good idea to fill out some cards for this booth offering free Florida trips. We all fill out our correct phone numbers, but put down bogus info for our jobs like 'porn star' etc (Yes I know...immature) I harrass the microphone operator chick for a while and ask her if I can talk in the mic and basically make them angry until we left.

Anyways, I got a call this afternoon (incoming CID 727-536-9846) from a very friendly snake who advised me I 'won to be qualified for a trip to Florida'. Since I'm pretty savvy with this crap I didnt sound excited about it an replied with an 'ok' to the great news. He picked up on my nonchalant attitude actually asked 'Isn't this exciting??!?' trying to get me to look at the cheese being dangled in front of my eyes instead of the truth about what was going on. He confirms the info I wrote on the paper and asks me about my credit card. I give him a few sing-song answers about why I'm not giving him a cc number and he tells me they need deposits for the hotels just in case we mess up the room or something. I told him all hotels accept cash deposits and I make tons of money in the pornography business that will be able to cover any costs incurred. He gets frusterated and hangs up

The fact they could afford a huge booth at the fair indicates to me the massive scale of this operation. The really awful thing is these guys seem to be operating right on the line of being legal or not legal so I guarentee alot of people are falling victim to this with no recourse. He used language that was convincing, but if you listened closely he did not actually say I won anything but to be 'qualified' for a trip. Since they never said anything was free, they did not commit any crimes.

I will be trying to pull the owner info/address for the phone number caller ID that called me. It is owned by Verizon and is obviously in Florida. I dislike people like this.
