Full Version: DIRECTV Telemarketers To Pay $75,000 Penalty
Californians Against Telephone Solicitation (CATS) > Telemarketing > Telemarketing-General

What's $75,000 for a multi-million dollar company? These guys will just pay the fine and move on. They paid $5.3 million dollars in a settlement last year but who cares. All they do is pass the buck on to the consumer by charging a couple of dollars more for their services.

I am sure there will be more fines to come.

The $5.3 million dollar settlement was with DirecTV. The $75,000 settlement was with Nomrah Records and it's President Mark Harmon (get it, Nomrah is Harmon spelled backwards).

$75,000 may not be much to DirecTV, but apparently it was a lot to Nomrah/Harmon because it looks like the FTC let them off easy. The settlement agreement sepcifically states that they will owe the full fine if it becomes clear that they misrepresented their financial situation.
