I recently received an autodialer prerecorded message call (telephone solicitation) that said it was from "Jill with Wireless Specialists". The prerecorded message talked about a free phone with wireless service. The prerecorded message asked me to press 9 to be connected with a specialist. I pressed 9, but I got tapped into their autodialer.

I could hear the people whom the autodialer called, but not the autodialer's prerecorded message. The people who were called could hear the autodialer's message, but not me. I had the operator break into the line, but she could only hear what I heard. I listened for about 45 minutes, and heard the autodialer make over 20 or 30 connections (lots of busy signals and bad numbers too). The autodialer reached several answering machines, and four of them said something like; "You've reached Joe Blow at 123-4567." I called these four people later in the day, but none of them received any messages on their answering machines, so apparently the autodialer hung up when it detected an answering machine.

I did *57 at the end of the call and Verizon's automated Call Trace was successful. The call was from 305-914-0000. If anyone knows anything about this number, or received a similar call, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

OK, I'll respond to my own post with more information. I got the same call a second time, and the same thing happened. Here is a transcript of the prerecorded message:

[Hello, this is Jill with Wireless Specialists]…I’m glad we caught you at home today. You have been selected for a special wireless promotion in your area. Are you unhappy with your wireless plan? Need a new phone? You’ve already been guaranteed pre-approval for this special offer. Call now and receive the latest technology color screen speaker phone for free, and get hundreds of minutes and unlimited nights and weekends starting at 7 PM. That’s right, 7 PM. A real unlimited nights and weekend plan. Press 9 now to be connected to a live wireless specialist, or press 8 to be removed from our list. Press 9 now to hear more about this fantastic offer, and ask your representative for your free gift with any activation. [I pressed 9] Please hold while your call is being transferred to a live agent. Thank you. [music] Thanks for holding, we appreciate your time and patience. Please stay on the line and we’ll be back in just a moment. [music]

Then, just like my last call from "Jill with Wireless Specialists", I got tapped right into their autodialer for the next half an hour or so. And just like my last call *69 said “We’re sorry, the last incoming call is marked private. And just like last time, *57 gave a good Call Trace. We'll see in a few weeks if it's 305-914-0000 like last time...

If anyone else gets this call and can find out who is selling, I'd love to know...

This probably isn't going to help, but my quiet Saturday morning just got interrupted by "Hello, this is Jill with Wireless Specialists…I’m glad we caught you at home today."

I hung up - I guess I should have stayed on longer. Searches for "Wireless Specialists" online proved fruitless, but a search for the entire greeting turned up this website. As my phone number is on the federal do-not-call list, I'm pissed off and hope that somebody, eventually, nails whoever is doing this. I live in Pittsburgh.

I received the same call on Dec. 13 and 16 -- on the 13th, I ended up in the same Wireless Specialists autodialer mess that you did -- but with a twist.

When I answered the call, I listened to the spiel and dialed 9. I got through to a man who said the name of the company was "Instant Promotions." He tried to hang up after giving the company name (guess he knew I wasn't going to sign up), and that's when I wound up listening to the autodialer for a few minutes before unplugging the phone to reset the line.

On the 16th, I pressed 9 again, but the call was terminated by them before anyone picked up.

Now today, I received a autodialed, recorded-message call for some $99 Orlando vacation ... pressed 9 ... the woman identified herself as being from "Instant Promotions," then when I asked for the name of the company, she said it was "Independent Promotions." She said they were in Orlando, Fla., but that sounds too easy. And who knows whether either of those are the company's real name?

Since prerecorded messages are illegal under most circumstances (including all the ones in here), where do we line up to shut this company down, or at least pressure them to stop making these calls?

And the call was blocked on Caller ID, which I believe is illegal for telemarketers here in Massachusetts as well. dry.gif

You can line up, but the line won't move anywhere until someone actually gets to a live representative and gets one or more of the following:

The real name of the company
The real address for the company
A telephone number for the company
A www site for the company

The address and name of the company that these types of sleazy telemarketers give out are usually bogus. I keep them on the line by being VERY interested. I get my credit card out and everthing. I'm all ready to buy whatever it is that they're selling. All I need is a www site that I can go to while they're on the line to verify that they are for real. Or a telephone number that I can call from my other line to verify that they are for real. I explain to them that my wife will kill me if I give our money away to someone that I can't contact in some way.

I am getting recorded calls from both of these places - Instant Promotions and Independent Promotions. I tell them I am on the do not call registry and they have no right to call me. I have reported each call to the registry on their complaint form.

I press 9 and have talked to people, but they will not give me the phone number and they slur the company name so fast that I have to have them repeat it several times.

Today I got another call for a free vacation to Florida. When I pressed 9 and asked for the company name and number, she hung up on me! This has to stop.

Who can we write to about this? There is no email address on the do not call registry.

I too have received a call from this phone number and I live in Ontario, Canada! The message identified the company as "First Contact" and I was to return the call, they gave a different phone number, which appears to be a local call. I came online as I was curious to know why they are calling me. I have no plans to return their calls!!

The goal here is to identify the people making the calls that put through 305-914-0000 on their Caller ID. If you received a call from 305-914-0000 (ie the number 305-914-0000 was on your Caller ID), then it would help if you could let us know who the people calling said they were and what telephone number they gave you to call them back. While they are problably not the people who actually made the call, they might be willing to share who made the call for them.

Thanks

I got the name "phil". I also live in Ontario Canada. The message on my answering service was very very full of static. Obviously I did not call back

If you received a call from 305-914-0000, and the caller left a telephone number for you to call back, maybe you could post that number here, so that someone else could call it.

Thanks

I can't believe I found this forum! I was trying to figure out what the heck this number was, and after my reverse lookup gave me a bogus result somewhere in Florida, I Googled the number itself.

Got this call today (April 7) about 2:10pm - I'm in the Niagara region of Ontario. All mine was was dead air - no message, which is why I *69ed it.

Phone seems to work fine afterwards... :-)

I'm from the Toronto, Ontario area. I got a call a couple of weeks ago about the cell phone deal, but I hung up partway through the message. Then about a week ago, I got a call about the $99 vacation. I listened to the message and pressed 8 to be removed from the list. Today I came home from work and saw the number on my caller's list, so Googled it and found this forum.

I'd like to know if it's about the vacations again, since I asked to be removed from the list. Do police investigate this sort of thing?

I can't say this enough. When people get a prerecorded message call from 305-914-0000, they should do whatever they can to speak with a live representative and get a call-back number, address, and/or www site. Then post the information here so we can try to track down who is putting through 305-914-0000 as Caller ID.

I don't know about Canada, but here in the US most prerecorded telephone solicitations are illegal and the recipients can sue for at least $1,500 per call. I've not had any luck getting the police involved.

I work for the Government of Ontario and we got a notice of High importance stating not to press"9" if the message tells you to and to just hang up. Apparently once you press "9", it allows the caller to make long distance calls on your phone line. Just thought I'd let people know!
ontarian
Im southwestern ontarian and we have been getting these calls now for a week sometimes 2x a day mainly in the morning.

Call display shows nothing as its private and its always a long distance call.

The message is (and btw its always the same and we always let the answering machine take the message)

"Hi this is rosa, calling from First Contact! Your ballet has been selected, for more details please call me at 519-489-0569, i look forward to hearing from you"

Also, i have noticed in comparing the two we have on the answering machine that they are slightly different. In the first message the lady hesitates when saying i look forward... its almost as she was about to say something else. Now in the second message, she says it without error.

Anyone have ideas who this is and why they bother calling our number so much?

I am in Central Canada and I received a junk fax overnight. The call id stated 305-914-0000
The junkfax was for "Trader's news alert". The removal number was 1-866-455-6416
I've been getting this junk for years under names like:

name removal number caller id
Hot-stock daily trader 866-360-4859 613-232-9826
Technology Street Reporter 800-913-0694 613-567-3100
Special situation stock alert 866-278-4349
Wall Street Top Picks 800-913-6351
The Energy Advisor 888-483-7942 613-232-9826
Howlett Research Corp 866-870-4691

and tons more. Also received many for $99 Orlando vacations and Cancun Vacations. That seems to fit in with some of the junk calls mentioned on this page.

I once called one of the removal number and shortly thereafter received a fax from Dynafax, offering to send 10,000 faxes for $395.
Through domain search, I traced dynafax (www.dynafaxcanada.com) to a Robert Di Pietro and "Banf Academy" (www.academiebanff.com)
Might be tied in to INFAX from Ottawa (Another junk fax broadcaster), but can't prove it. Only a suspicion based on some similarities on wording etc..,

Calling removal numbers only agravates things since I suspect that these bastards share list amongs each other.
reddy3939
I received a call this evening on the message machine telling me that it was "Peyton Calling from First Contact and that my ballot has been selected and to call 519-489-0569."

I found these messages when I tried to look anything up. I had a feeling it was bogus.

This number is a business number and people should not be allowed to abuse peoples phone numbers like this. Any way we can stop these people from doing this?

Thanks
T1GG3R
Hey there, got the call, ON, CAN, did some searching.
THis site is good;
http://www.reversephonedirectory.com/411/p...er=519-489-0569

gave this result;
We're sorry. We did not find a listing for the phone number you entered.
The phone number "(519) 489-0569" is a Kitchener-Waterloo, ON based phone number and the registered carrier is GT Group Telecom Services Corp. However, due to number portability, some numbers have been transferred to a new service provider other than the registered carrier.

GT seems to be;
http://www.gt.ca/

which is a recognised reseller of bulk phone service, so further research is required.
Just trying to help - I researched it since I had recently added my number into a "door prize" draw, and was hopeful... smile.gif
Bc
Just in case there was any doubts that 305-914-0000 was not only a junk caller, but a junk fax sender as well, I just received another junk fax overnight with their number on caller i.d.
It's another stock pumping crap with a slight variation from the previous night:
"Mike Mitchel's Stock Trader Report"
The removal number is 800-604-9758 which is different from the previous night.

This is worse than junk calls in that they are wasting my fax imaging film which cost $30 a roll.

The people behind it seem to be operating from Canada so the bulk caller/faxer is probably Canadian as well which brings my suspicion back to Dynafax www.dynafaxcanada.com or Infax: http://www.infax-go.com/en/main.htm and they seem to be ignoring the U.S. don't call registry. There must be some way to go after them.

Well after reading all this information I am even more pissed off that this number is now asking for personal information. I recieved a call today asking for if this was the residence of my mother and when I asked who was calling the line disconnected. They called back again later, my father answered and they asked the same question, this time asking if she is the grand-daughter of my greatgrand parents....again when asked who was calling, the line disconnected. When we called the number (305-914-0000) back, the line is not in service or has been disconnected....not a happy camper.... mad.gif

I got this today, April 24th around 6pm or so.

"Hi this is rosa, calling from First Contact! Your ballet has been selected, for more details please call me at 519-489-0569, i look forward to hearing from you"

Same deal as someone else got (saved me typing, thanks a bunch)

I live in Kitchener, Ontario, so I will do my best to track down and hunt the people behind this number. Thing is... it could be a Cell phone, my Cell phone starts with 519-498-xxxx. So anyways, I will be calling this number back tomorrow, repeatedly until I get answers.

mad.gif I received a call from 305-914-0000 at 3:00 this morning - jumped out of bed worried that it was a family emergency or something. The message left seemed to be fax beeping. About 20 minutes later I received a 2nd call, but this one came up as 'private'; same message though. Not a pleasant reason for my entire family to be woken up by the telephone. Both calls were to my cell phone, which is on the do not call list and cannot receive faxes anyhow. . .

I live in Maryland and this morning at 6.23 am I got a phone call from 305-914-0000. I picked up and ended the call immediately as I did not want to wake up the kids. Unfortunately, they did wake up... This made me go on the internet to check on the number. The White Pages only told me it was a number located in North Dade, Florida.

Waw, 3:00 am ???? Then we were more "fortunate". This morning at around 6 am my phone rang twice, 15 minutes apart from each other; the first one gave me the fax sound, the 2nd one I ended immediately. Later that morning I saw it came from 305-914-0000.

May 24, 2005 01:19 AM 13059140000 00:01:00

nothing but dead air was on my voicemail. fortunately my phone has a distinctive ring feature for phone numbers in its phone book, so I selected "no ring" for that number. hopefully it won't call again though.

I've received calls for weeks with a fax on the other line (some times up to 4x a day and most of them between 1:00 and 4 am!). They were always privet numbers so I called my phone company and blocked all privet calls from coming in. Last night the phone rang at 1:00 am and I got the 305-914-0000 number displayed (it was a fax number again). I'm going to just call my phone company with a complaint and have them bock this number from ever going through.

Ok, so my phone company won't block the phone number with out charging me on a monthly basis... I went to the Federal Do Not Call registry and filed a complaint. I'd encourage everyone to do the same at: https://www.donotcall.gov/Complain/ComplainCheck.aspx. Perhaps this will bring it to the forefront of the FCCs attention.

Thank you Deb. from GA
Having received junk faxes for years and learning that trying to have my number removed only seem to make things worse, I'm skeptical that it will stop. It probably will change call I.D. number, and removal number etc.., but it will probably increased. I once call the removal number on the fax, but then gave my phone number as the one to be removed, just to see what would happen. a few days later, I received a phone call from a fax machine, beeping away. Something that had never happened to me. Using removal service from email spam only confirms that your email is valid and guarantee even more spam. It's the same with junk faxes.

Deb, From GA, I have been receiving about 4 fax's a day from "Mike Mitchel's Stock Trader Report" and Wall Street Bulletin.  I just got off the phone with David King from Global Media and Corporate Relations they are the distributer of the fax's via a third party, Republic Dial Communications......."This thrid party"company is out of the country and has a web site:  Republic Dial.com.  Everyone that is receiving faxes please call David King at:  407-628-9354 his fax: is 407-628-9535. I had to leave a message but I told him I was possible interested in an investment he called me back and the caller ID said his right call back number.  He told me that they were not authorized and he will call them......we will see. Global Media and Corporate Relations is located at:  513 Dunblane Drive, Winter Park, FL phone numbers above.  Bc you are right this is costing more than just my time but money when it comes to film and paper.......mad doesn't discribe my emotions regarding the receiving the fax.  BY THE WAY........I TOLD HIM THAT HE IS GOING TO BE IN SERIOUS TROUBLE IF HE DIDN'T MAKE THEM STOP.......Because people in the US and Canada are up in arms and we are going to come down on him........what good that will do, I don't know.....

I checked http://www.republicdial.com/ It looks like a dud site but there was a link to:
https://www.republicdial.net/ that had many mentions and links to http://www.visionlab.com/
which is an identical site. And if I'm right, Deb was lied to when told that they where an out of the country company.
They list:
Republic Dial
Corporate Headquarters
1680 Michigan Avenue, Suite 1106
Miami Beach, FL. 33139
P: 1 888 411 4329 (USA)
1 305 534 1812 (worldwide)
F: 1 305 534 8905

I check whois for domain registration and the first two are registered by proxy through GoDaddy.com
There may be some legitimate reason why someone would register a domain anonamously, but most I've seen where otherwise, such as fake banks runned by 419 scammers. Hundreds of them. And a lot of them use GoDaddy.com

The 3rd site is registered by:
Visionlab Telecommunications, Inc.
1680 Michigan Ave Suite 1014
Miami Beach, FL 33139
Phone: 305-534-1812
Fax: 305-503-7209

Same company

So I did some more googling on Global Media. That's where it gets interesting.

at this site:

http://www.dopplerfx.com/dfx_cfm/repel/fax...broad_id=VISLAB

they list vision lab's removal numbers for junk faxes, and there are over 600.

on this site:
http://wired-vig.wired.com/news/business/0...n_story_related
they mention Vision Lab being sued for junk faxing.

a lot more stuff here including on Vision Lab:

Checked out Global Media Inc., and found something about Microsoft suing Global Median Inc., of Ft.Lauderdale Florida for spamming in 2003. Could there be 2 Global Media Inc. in Florida?

I don't really have anything significant to add, except that I too have been getting calls like this. I am on the federal do-not-call list (which really seems to work, except in this instance). A few months ago, I started getting faxes randomly during the day and night, not every day, usually only once or twice a week, sometimes less than that, often times in the middle of the night. I never thought much about it- I used to work for a company that would receive several of these faxes daily, and I knew that there's not much you can do about it- the numbers given on the faxes to be removed from their databases do nothing. And like I said, it wasn’t too terribly frequent. Usually the faxes are "hot stock tips" and the like. Anyways, last night at 2:43 am my phone rings, I let the machine get it, the caller doesn't leave a message so I figure it's a wrong number. This morning I look at the caller ID: 305-914-0000 I do a google search and come across this site. It's only after reading through the site that I check my fax. The fax from 2:43 am was: "Telatinos (TLND): Ground Floor Opportunity in Explosive Multi-Billion Dollar VoIP Market; 2005 revenues expected to exceed $85,000,000." At the bottom of the fax its says: "for more information, please visit: www.telatinos.com to be removed from the database call 866-872-5348" Unfortunately, because it's faxes I receive and not an actual person I am unable to get any more information about who is calling. On 5/18 at 10:42 am I received a fax: “Ready to Relax in Sunny Florida?” caller ID: Quebec 514-667-5269. The callback number on the fax is 800-778-4179 and the remove number on the fax is 1-866-363-6796. Don’t know if any of this info will help. I would like these calls to stop, so I will check this forum regularly to see what’s up. Thanks!

The last few week I have gotten calls throughout the night from the following

305-941-0000
305-328-5624
305-328-5622
305-328-5630
305-328-5621

This is getting extremely annoying, and impossible to block them since they seem to change the number on every other call.

I reverse searched all of them and they come up as Ft Lauderdale numbers.

I think this company should have to pay us all at least a $1000 for each instance!!!

I agree, I have a two year old daughter that is being woke up as many as 5 times a night because of this crap.. Does anyone know what we can do to get action on these SOB's?????

From the information we have here, the culprit who owns 305-914-0000 is
http://www.visionlab.com/

apparently the worst junk faxer around these days. And it seems that they also do junk phone calls.

Up here in canada, we cant do much. We don't have a Do Not Call Registry, and we can't register with the U.S. one as it will not accept our area codes. But anyone in the U.S. can put in a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry, or better still, sue the sleeze balls.

One guy sued Visionlab and won. Check out this site:

http://www.junkfax.org/fax/broadcasters/vi...b/VisionLab.htm

Here is the first paragraphs from that site:

==================================
Visionlab is now THE worst offenders of the TCPA. Today, they reportedly send out more than 2M faxes a day. Before the demise of fax.com they were number 2. Now that fax.com is out of business due to a federal injunction, Vision Lab (aka Visionlab) is now #1.

I sued them for one fax to make sure a court didn't buy their "we don't send junk faxes" story. I won. Here is the judgment for $2,500 + costs for just one fax: VisionLabJudgment.PDF

I personally have more than 446 faxes from them:

pile 1 221 faxes: 6/10/02 to 7/23/04
pile 2 120 faxes: 8/30/04 to 4/13/05
pile 3 105 faxes: 10/25/04 to 4/20/05

Good information on handling junk faxes can be seen at this web site:
